 DRESS REGULATIONS

(Adapted from The Hague International Model United Nations guide by Uday Rai Mehra)

 From the day of arrival, only formal dress may be worn during meetings in the Royal Marine Hotel.  As a serious simulation, SAIMUN expects personal appearance to be appropriate for a professional setting.

For Gentlemen

Suits

Blazers and Smart Trousers

Collar and Tie

For Ladies

Suits

Dresses

Smart Trousers

Skirts (the end of the skirt should be no higher than five inches above the knee)

 

Inappropriate dress includes, but is not limited to:

Denim jeans/jackets, leggings

Open-necked shirts or low cut blouses

T-shirts or sports shoes

Brightly coloured hair or facial piercings

National costume or military attire


Participants should not wear clothing, jewellery or accessories that are distracting, inappropriate or that may call attention to themselves either individually or as a group. Incorrectly dressed delegates will not be permitted to take part in the conference; security will have instructions not to admit anyone who is inappropriately dressed.
